The Free Universal Construction Kit is a set of downloadable models meant for use with 3D printers. The brick patterns allow interoperability between ten popular construction toy brands (i.e. Lego, Tinkertoys, K’Nex, etc.).
Using a process called “two-photon lithography”, researchers at the Vienna University of Technology have devised a 3D printer that creates microscopic objects at much faster speeds than was previously possible.

“Haptic Intelligentsia” by Joong Han Lee is a modified 3D printing device that involves human intervention in the creation process. The device allows the operator to ‘feel’ the 3D model they are building; material is extruded by pulling the trigger on the gun.
