“Buried With Him By Baptism”
A print depicting the baptism of Jesus that may seem unremarkable at first, except for the signature at the bottom: P. Revere Sculp.
This print was recently found in the stacks of the John Hay Library at Brown University, stuffed into the back cover of a book from 1811 belonging to the Solomon Drowne collection. It is one of five known copies of this print by Paul Revere; it is believed that the prints may have been produced a few at a time upon request, for friends of Revere.
(Also: I didn’t realize Revere was the son of a Huguenot)
