30 carefully curated Spotify Playlists for RPG

Hi folks! A year ago I started putting together a Spotify Playlist series for D&D sessions. In the meantime there are 30 playlists that I’d like to share with you. They are constantly updated and refined, and there will be more in the future.

Overground Exploration

  • Ambient Exploration – Abstract and blurry sound textures for calm, relaxing, neutral mood exploration
  • Fantasy Exploration – The positive, orchestral side of exploration focusing on the macro of beautiful landscapes
  • Mystic Exploration – Exploration with a (mostly) neutral sense of uncertainty, focus on overground investigation
  • Mountains – Underscore music with subtle sense of majestic and epic
  • Forest – Positive, slightly magical, organic tone
  • Ice & Snow – Calm, partially tense, relentless
  • Night Atmosphere – Very calm and relaxing

Towns/ Village/ Camp/ Preparation

Tense Exploration

  • Desolation – Calm, empty, dismal, slightly hopeless
  • Ambivalent – Undefined, slightly contradictory mood, not hinting in any direction; fine line between good and evil; mostly Ambient music
  • Slight Tension – Uneasy, ambiguous, something may be lurking. Not yet dungeon music.
  • Dungeon Atmosphere – Dark exploration setting for man made structures; Mostly orchestral textures with tense and unsettling mood
  • Cave Atmosphere – Organic noise textures with a tiny glimpse of beauty for natural underground caves, caverns or abandoned mines
  • Underground Tombs – Eerie, hard to grasp otherworldly textures and haunting choirs. Works best for anything with ghosts or undead.
  • Horror – Dark, intense, creepy, straight out nightmarish. Can be used for imminent tough and eerie encounters, and underground battle

Action/ Combat

Hope you like them! Feedback and suggestions are welcome 🙂

Cheers

Today marks Five Years of 3D modeling & printing my own D&D minis and sharing them with you all for free! Entire Collection (so far) in comments!

Today I proudly reach the milestone of having 3D modeled and printed my own D&D minis for 5 years! Its been an honor to share all my works with you for free, and I'm looking forward to the many challenges that lie before me. There are just so many amazing creatures to model and print still!

A special thanks goes out to u/jz4250 , my awesome wife. 5 years ago she convinced me to take up 3D printing as I had a background in 3D art and wasn't doing anything with it. I was focused on my government and military career and just thought I'd move on from art. But nope, she practically dragged me to a 3D printing course in the DC Library and I was hooked. I posted a 3D printed black dragon here on reddit, and haven't stopped since.

So here it is! 5 years of works and many more to go! All were modeled in Blender and either printed in PLA or with resin on my Anycubic Photon. Free file links under each image:

DM’s Toolkit – A compilation of DM resources to help you run your game the easy way (updates & giveaway)

I started a website, DM's Toolkit, with the aim to collect the internet's best tools to help any dungeon master regardless of experience to start running kick ass games the easy way! My goal is to make this website the best, one stop shop resource on the web for a wide array of DM tools and a veritable treasure trove of useful information.

Right now we're running a giveaway contest with first prize being an offical Wizard's of the Coast rulebook (or adventure) of your choice with 2nd and 3rd place prizes as well! Check out DM's Toolkit for more prizes and contest information.

This is still very much a work in progress, any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!
