This is my attempt to envision what could screen graphics look like for the new movie adaptation of Frank Herbert’s “Dune”, if this would happen. 

I have created seven scenes which themes are bond together and all the visuals are merging together into one story, smoothly transitioning one into another: unveiling the planet, discovering its dangers and nature, showcasing its location in the universe, establishing connection with your friendly forces, setting a tone for it, and then completing your mission.

Because computers are forbidden in the world of Dune, I’ve approached this project from the perspective of creating something more of a screen title nature, rather than traditional diegetic UI. White appearance helps to eliminate the holographic look, and overall aesthetics of this piece is close to e-ink technology, to emphasize the literary foundation of the product.​​​​​​​ (more…)
